La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Members' Christmas Party

'A festive evening among friends'

When the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club throws a party for their members, it's not to be missed. So unless you were sunning in St. Bart's, or skiing in Aspen, the annual adults Christmas Party is a must.

So on a clear moonlit night December 28th, 2008, over a thousand guests came dressed festively, and ready to celebrate the blessings of friends .... and fabulous food!

That's food as in cuisine by Executive Chef Bernard Guillas and Chef de Cuisine Brian Freerksen.

There were buffet tables laden with seafood, sushi, cheeses and desserts. Meats and bouillabaisse were carved and prepared by sous chefs. Chef Bernard had a great time putting the 'oooh la la' flambé into bananas foster.

And some guests also enjoyed cognac and cigars by the poolside and a few outdoor tv's..... it was Charger game night after all!

Among the mix there was Nancy and Fred Borrelli, he was just back from perfect surf at Scorpion Bay, Robert Kellogg, he was just about to leave for Scorpion Bay, and probably two of the most eligible's in San Diego, Carol Ann Saikhon and Diane Szekely. Also there were Candace and Lee Gibbs, Natasha Reiss and Erik Johnson, Monique Gray, Ruth and Paul Jacobowitz, Martha and Ed Dennis, Leslie and Rick Evans, Maurice Roy, and Royce and John Campbell, along with Tricia and Bill Kellogg.

John Campbell is the General Manager of the Club and it's affiliated properties, and Bill Kellogg is the Club President. As such they both welcomed club members to yet another extraordinary club party.

And it would be remiss not to include Lisa Douglass, in charge of catering and party planning, in conjunction with party designer Dani Evangelista of Pacific Event Productions, and Lisa Araiza and Beth Carter in membership, for all of their organization. They made this celebration happen. And they did so brilliantly!

The night had extra meaning for two guests. Elaine and Tom Murphy's wedding anniversary coincided with the party. As Elaine said, it was a great way to celebrate among friends!
