CASABARKA Fur Ball 2010

(followed by The Buzz!!)

The 24th Annual Fur Ball 2010 themed 'CASABARKA' had a lot of 2 and 4 legged supporters turn out to the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA at the San Diego Campus on Gaines Street August 14th, 2010.

Among the highlights was seeing every breed and loveable mix of breed come to party with their owners. There were very winsome adoptable dogs on hand too!

Among the mix were Gala Chairs Beverly and George Coles with their dog Ben, Melissa and Michael Bartell with their Poodles, Val Summers, Judith and Duke Johnson, San Diego Humane Society President Mark Goldstein and his wife Kris, Julie and Dale Yahnke, Martha and George Gafford with their King Charles Cavaliers Archie and Oliver, Ingrid Hibben and Victor La Magna, Constance Hughes and Rick Wildman, Arthur and Virginia Foster with their big boy Jake, and of course Kima Schwab-Johnston. Kima came in her couture Jemima Dutra wedding gown just in case she found her 'man!'

The Ellen Browning Scripps Foundation was honored, guests enjoyed a beautiful dining setting by Jim Lennox of Pacific Events, cuisine was by Jeffrey Strauss, and music by Archie and The Arch Tones... hmmmmmm.... a dog band spinoff might be aptly named 'The Bark Tones.'

With all of the fun there was a serious side to the evening. Now more than ever help is needed for the overwhelming amount of animals coming in. Don't forget SPAY, NEUTER, ADOPT!!

P.S. - Big sponsors included PETCO and PETCO Foundation, Allen and Maureen Blackmore, Eda and Sandra Burr, John Coleman, Wells Fargo, Martha and George Gafford, Carson Hager, Anne Perry and Joe McNally, and Stan Nosel and Princess Kim Rice.

Please enjoy the photos.
