Kymberli and Vaughn Parker Charitable Foundation 'Saks' Big Money for Mammogram's Once Again!
"In this struggling economy, it was a joy to see friends of The Vaughn Parker Charitable Foundation and Saks Fifth Avenue celebrate women's health. We had support beyond our expectations! We truly thank all of our donors that contributed by purchasing a ticket, those that shopped the event, as well as the media, and our spectacular sponsors. Donor contributions and 2% of Saks sales will be donated back to the Foundation, to provide mammogram and diagnostic services for the underserved in our community." - Kymberli Parker
On October 16th, 2008, Kymberli and Vaughn Parker welcomed "Key to the Cure" supporters to the Saks Fifth Avenue in Fashion Valley. And pink was the color of the night in honor of breast cancer research and prevention.
Including two petite charity ambassadors. They were the Parkers' daughters.

Others there for an evening of nibblies, great wine, and more included Kari and Frank Whiteley, Pam Cesak, Royce Campbell, Desiree Kellogg, and a host of others.
The fashion show featured hot pink cheery dancers, and a smorgasbord of beautiful, wearable big name designs that were invitingly non-couture prices. Ralph lauren, L.A.M.B., Theory, Diane Von Furstenberg, Missioni, St. John, Alice + Olivia and more. And so people shopped. And they shopped big.
Kari Whiteley found Prada, Armani, and then more. Husband Frank Whiteley looked like a shopping sherpa. He didn't mind. It was for a good cause.
After all, shopping for the cure weekend at Saks was offering big incentives. A portion of sales go to the Kymberli and Vaughn Parker Charitable Foundation that provides free mammograms for women who otherwise would not be able to afford this priceless checkup.
Further, Saks gave a hefty percentage off for those shopping with a Saks card.
Scott Johnston, who was recently named as one of the 10 best dressed men in San Diego by KUSI's Style Guy Leonard Simpson, got totally in the spirit. A few choice suits later, Canali, Versace, and Zegna etc. proved to be great fun for a great cause.
Saks stayed open quite late that night. It was that fun!
Speaking of health care related matters, on November 14th, 2008 Palomar Pomerado Hospital Women's Center is naming a room in their hospital after Kymberli Parker. How cool is that!
Local Sponsors for this event included: Coca-Cola Bottling Company; The Arrington Family, Arthouse Creative, DJHERE, Hope Wine, India Ink Papers, Liberty Mutual, Mindy Weiss, Bo Navarro, Palomar Pomerado Hospital Foundation , Saks Fifth Avenue, The Toby Wells Foundation, Ventana Photography, Wild Tyme Catering, and the Vaughn Parker Charitable Foundation.
Big names for a big cause. The Social Diary salutes Saks Fifth Avenue, the Parker Family Foundation, and all of the supporters for helping to find a 'key to the cure.'
