restraining order or TRO
A TRO
is an official written court ordered restraint to keep the violent
person
away from
you ... it also typically restrains the person from harrassing
&
threatening you by phone or any other means
....
it is only paper though so be prepared.... abusers typically come
after their victim
soon after
a restraining order is recorded. Protect yourself... there are

Call
911 in emergencies!
1 - Keep
a copy of important papers, telephone numbers and medical records
with you
and place
a copy with a trusted friend
2 - Keep
a brief diary of incidents, TRO violations, witnesses, photos
3 - Stay
in contact with the Police and your City Attorney's Office if
you have any problems or questions
4 - Learn
about the cycle of abuse.....understand the traps and break the
cycle
5 - Get
counseling.
6 - Remember
abuse is not your fault
