OF ALOHA AT UCSD CANCER CENTER'S 9TH ANNUAL
LUAU & LONGBOARD INVITATIONAL
Event
Chairs Charla & Paul Mullen along with their
hardworking committee organized an aloha filled
event providing alot of mahalo or thankful $$$'s
for cancer research & education!
The
event was the best ever with a sellout crowd
enjoying perfect surf and tremendous aloha spirit.
LIFESHOCK
WINS!
Lifeshock
was the surf team winner but frankly all participants
were winners. Big smiles came from legends and
their corporate sponsor teams for fun waves.
Lifeshock participated in thanks to the Walton
Family Foundation..... ie. the Walmart family!

Kahanamoku Stamp Unveiled
The
Duke, the legendary waterman, Olympian swimmer,
outrigger canoe competitor and all time great
surfer and aloha man to the world was honored
with an unveiling of a 37 cent comemorative
stamp. To resounding applause, the beautiful
stamp by artist Michael Deas was displayed.

Cancer
Research Wins
The
UCSD Cancer Center will benefit from the over
$190,000 raised at the 2002 Luau! And it will
go to great use helping brilliant Cancer Research
scientists find curing breakthrough to eradicate
cancer.
