Tiger

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Color: Brown/White
Age: 5 years
Sex: Male
Weight: 70 pounds
Adoption Fee: $180

Tiger is an adorable, 5-year-old Pit Bull mix with a big heart!  He absolutely loves spending time with his people friends and can be very affectionate.  Tiger is mellow and easy-going, yet loves to play with his squeaky toys and go for long walks too.  This handsome guy is a social butterfly and he gets along great with cats and other dogs.  Tiger is very smart and loves to learn.  He takes treats gently from your hand.  Tiger’s housetrained and also is thrilled to go for car rides.
Tiger will do well in a variety of homes, but a home with older children is recommended.  Tiger would do great in a home with other dogs!  His adoption fee is $180 and includes his current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, and more!

Promises2Kids Rocks with Doobie Brothers

Brilliantly Chaired by Rocio and Mike Flynn, and Honorary Chair and Host Joan Waitt

....HOME

The Doobie Brothers performed June 20th, 2011 at Joan Waitt’s La Jolla estate to benefit Promises2Kids.

The evening started with a VIP meet and greet reception with the Doobie Brothers, followed by a general reception. There were cocktails and silent auction item shopping on the lawn. Auction items included 7 endermologie / sauna sessions by La Jolla’s Body Sculpt by Sarah, followed by a live auction later at dinner that included such temptations as a Harley-Davidson Night Rod, a stay in Ian Fleming’s Golden Eye vacation home in Jamaica, and a dinner at Chef Brian Malarkey's new restaurant Burlap.

Among those there to support the evening’s cause were Honorary Chair and Hostess Joan Waitt with her children, Event Chairs Rocio and Mike Flynn, Stuart and Lee Posnock, Promises2Kids CEO and President Susan Golding (she’s also our former Mayor of San Diego), Bonnie Saldivar-Jones (founder of On Demand Workouts and an event sponsor) and Peter Jones, Dr. Mitch Goldman and his fiancée Laura Linden, Miriam and David Smotrich, Susan Oliver, Karianne and Tom Forsyth, Lori and Bill Walton, Juliet Miller, Nancy Kidder, Valerie and Harry Cooper, Laleh Roudi, and Emma and Leo Zuckerman.

More there included Rosella Fimbres, Linda and Don Swortwood, Corky Mizner, Laurie Joseph, Joani Wafer, and Maggie and Gary Bobbie. Maggie and Gary were the recent Chairs of the KidsKorps Gala.

Guests enjoyed a catered dinner by the Hyatt Regency La Jolla that included a leafy salad with edible flowers and candied walnuts, an entrée of petit filet mignon, and a trio of desserts.

As the live auction progressed during dinner, the happy news that an anonymous donor had given $250,000 was announced.

Then it was time to Listen to the Music as the Doobie Brothers took the stage and proved their vocal and instrumental prowess.  Doobie Brothers’ stars include Guy Allison (keyboards and vocals),  Tony Pia on drums to sub for Michael Hossack who was absent due to health reasons, Tom Johnston (vocals and guitar), John McFee (guitar, strings, vocals), Marc Russo (saxophone), and Ed Toth (drums).

Guests danced below the stage enjoying a spectacular evening. Proceeds from the event will help the Promises2Kids mission “to break the cycle of child abuse through prevention, education, and advocacy.”
